What is a ripped body? It’s a muscular, symmetrical, balanced body with a well-defined six-pack and no detectable body fat. The human body doesn’t get that way by wishing for it. Weight training, proper nutrition, and aerobic exercise are critically important to developing that ripped look. First, however, you must determine exactly at what point you are currently. If you currently do not have the body that you dream about, you fall into one of the two following categories: the big guy or the skinny guy.

The Big Guy

The big guy is the one who looks formidable when dressed, and exhibits no muscle definition when the body is exposed. He trains relentlessly like a bodybuilder, eats extra calories, and gets stronger at each workout. Unfortunately, he never looks like a fitness model, because of the excess body fat.

The Skinny Guy

The skinny guy is the one who may look fairly good because he exhibits no measurable body fat, but he has no muscle mass to support the body. He may look thin, trim, and fit when riding his bike while clothed in spandex, but looks weak and undernourished in the gym. These people benefit well from a muscle bulking program. Without muscle mass, skinny guys never look ripped.

Weight Training for Bulky Guys

To get ripped with weight training, bulky guys should:
* Train for 1 to 1 ½ hours to burn off extra calories.
* Perform more isolated movements to burn off calories.
* Maintain their strength to ensure no loss of muscle.
* Add drop sets and pre-exhaust set to the workout to expend energy.
* Focus more on each muscle group and split their body part over five days.

Nutrition for Bulky Guys

To get ripped with nutrition, bulky guys should:
* Eat about ten times their body weight in calories for fat reduction.
* Eat no less than 1 to 1 ½ grams of protein per pound of lean muscle mass.
* Eat both carbs and protein at a ratio of 1 to 1 each day.
* Eat healthful oils like flax oil, olive oil, nuts, and avocado.
* Consume liquid carbs only during workouts.
* Eat only complex carbs such as vegetables and fruits.

Cardio for Bulky Guys

To get ripped with cardio, bulky guys should:
* Perform cardio immediately after weight training.
* Mix up long, slow, and interval cardio.
* Do cardio 7 to 10 time each week.
* Do cardio on an empty stomach for rapid fat reduction.
* Sip protein drinks to avoid muscle loss.

Weight Training for Skinny Guys

To get ripped with weight training, skinny guys should:
* Train no more than 45 minutes at each workout.
* Focus on compound movements not isolated movements.
* Focus on getting 5 percent stronger every two weeks.
* Limit reps to no more than two forced reps to avoid wasted energy.
* Split body parts into a maximum three day program.

Nutrition for Skinny Guys

To get ripped with nutrition, skinny guys should:
* Eat about 15 times their body weight in calories for muscle mass.
* Eat no less than 1 to 1.5 grams of protein per pound of lean muscle mass.
* Eat no less than twice as much carbs as proteins.
* Eat high quality fats with each meal.
* Consume extra calories during workout with nutrition drinks.
* Eat the largest meals at breakfast, pre-workout and post-workout.
* Eat large amounts of oatmeal, whole grains, potatoes and rice.

Cardio for Skinny Guys

To get ripped with cardio, skinny guys should:
* Perform cardio only if caloric intake exceeds 1000 calories.
* Separate time between cardio and weight workouts.
* Keep cardio workouts less than 30 minutes.
* Perform cardio fewer than 4 times a week.
* Perform cardio on a full stomach.
* Consume a protein-carb drink after each workout.
* Avoid long, endurance style training.

So, whether you’re bulky or skinny, there is a way to get ripped quickly. It takes commitment, determination, discipline, and adherence to the guidelines listed above. It’s challenging, but it’s worth the effort to have the body that you desire.
